CHELSEA striker Timo Werner chased a lost dog for more than a mile — only to end up defeated. Timo, 25, set off after the terrier which was darting around in distress in a park. Onlooker Vincent Cassidy, 55, said: “The man was obviously a very fit and fast runner but the animal couldn’t be caught. “I thought the guy looked familiar. Then suddenly I said, ‘That’s Timo Werner’! “He kept going for over a mile all around the park, but the dog was always just out of reach. The dog, called Pickles, was finally caught by wardens at Battersea Park, South West London, last Monday. It had an ID collar and was reunited with its owner. Werner played in Chelsea’s 3-0 Premier League win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, but drew a blank for Germany in their 2-0 defeat to England in the Euros. Erling Haaland's agent, Mino Raiola, has refused to rule out the prospect of him staying at Borussia Dortmund for another season. The 21-year-old has a rumoured €75 million release clause that kicks in at the conclusion of the 2021/22 season, and he is generally anticipated to leave the Bundesliga club this summer. This might result in a bidding war for Haaland's services, with Manchester United and Manchester City both keen. United attempted to get Haaland before he moved to Borussia Dortmund in January 2020, and they are still interested in his talents, while City are expected to pursue Haaland after failing to sign Harry Kane last summer. Haaland now has 53 goals in 54 Bundesliga games , making him the fastest player to achieve the half-century mark in the competition's history, and most of Europe's top teams will be eager to sign him.
Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has suggested Manchester United's interim manager Ralf Rangnick should sell Anthony Martial as soon as possible. Jordan stated that Anthony Martial has all the capabilities of becoming a great player for Manchester United but has a " heart the size of a pea." The 53-year-old pundit believes Martial is the kind of player who can negatively impact the manager and thus should be sold quickly. Speaking to TalkSPORT, Simon Jordan said: "Get the cab ready and put Martial in it as quickly as you possibly can. I think Martial is one of those players that gets you the sack. I think he is the archetypal Manchester United player of the last half a decade that on paper looks a great player, got all the ability but when it comes to it, the heart's the size of a pea. He wants to go - good riddance, if I'm United." Anthony Martial has been one of the most frustrating players in the Manchester United camp
