Breaking news: Jules Kounde 'absolutely furious at Sevilla for not selling him to Chelsea
Jules Kounde has reportedly been left
'absolutely furious' with his club Sevilla
following his collapsed summer move to
Chelsea.
The Blues were keen to add the highly
rated defender to their ranks during the
transfer window but saw their attempts
rebuffed by the Spanish side.
According to the The Spanish Football
Podcast, the France international is
absolutely furious at the club for not
selling him to Chelsea. Apparently not
answering the phone to director of
football Monchi or his manager Julen
Lopetegui.
Monchi revealed on transfer deadline
day that while his side had received
an offer from the Blues a week prior,
it was rejected by the club.
'The only written, formal offer from
Chelsea came last Wednesday, around
5pm', Monchi said.
'We weren't satisfied with the offer, and
it was linked to Chelsea selling a player.
It was a decent fee but it didn't meet our
criteria.
'We haven't spoken with Chelsea since
Friday night. We all decided that it was
best Jules didn't travel to Elche. It's normal
for players to be affected by news of any
kind. Last year he had the interest from
City and now Chelsea this year.'
