McAvennie has slammed Manchester United

captain Harry Maguire.

Maguire's performances this season have

been questioned, and he has struggled to replicate

his summer success for England. Even having

Raphael Varane back alongside him, the

28-year-old was far from brilliant in this week's

draw with Newcastle. In his 15 Premier League

games this season, United's captain has

only four shutouts.

Maguire, according to commentator

McAvennie, is prone to errors and is a

major "issue" for Ralf Rangnick.

At St James' Park, McAvennie was unimpressed

with the defender and told Football Insider

: "I would fancy myself against Harry Maguire."
