Breaking news : Ragnick in his first interview as a Manchester United Manchester gave reasons he snubbed Chelsea job all to wait for Manchester United job .
Ralf Rangnick has admitted that he found
it impossible to turn down Manchester United
after they approached him to become their
interim manager - despite having snubbed
Chelsea's similar offer earlier this year.
Rangnick, 63, has penned a six-month
contract to take over at Old Trafford until the
end of the season, and will then move into
an advisory role which will see him help
decide who his own successor will be.
But his appointment at United came as
somewhat of a surprise in light of his
stance over not being a short-term option,
although he has now suggested that his
consultancy job influenced his decision.
'At the time, when Chelsea contacted me,
they only spoke about the possibility of four
months and no prospective of further than
that,' he said, speaking at his first press
conference in charge of United.
'Here, we are talking about six and a
half months and a two year advisory role.
'If a club like Manchester United contacts
you, you cannot possibly turn it down.'
Good man and good luck.
