Manchester United are reportedly in
advanced talks to sign midfielder Boubacar
Kamara in what would be the first new
addition of the Ralf Rangnick era. The
22-year-old, who has earned rave reviews
for his performances for Marseille in
Ligue 1, has attracted interest from a
whole host of clubs including Barcelona
since become a regular at the Stade
Velodrome.
Kamara was close to moving to the Premier
League on transfer deadline day when
he was the subject of late interest from
Newcastle and Wolves.
Yet despite late talks with both clubs,
Kamara decided that he wanted to stay put.
He has been an ever-present figure in
Jorge Sampaoli's side this season, making
14 appearances in the league, netting
one goal.
It now appears his fine form has not
gone unnoticed and The athletic say
United are one of several clubs interested
in his services.
Developments in the Catalonian press
this morning claim United are in 'advanced
negotiations' to sign the young Frenchman
and Barcelona target ahead of the
January window.
The reports suggests a deal could be
wrapped up for the opening days of the
transfer window if everything goes to plan.
Ralf Rangnick is said to have given his
blessing for the deal and the German will
have a big say on recruitment given he
is set to move into a consultancy role
when his time as interim boss comes
to an end.
As it stands, United are currently operating
with Fred and Scott McTominay as their
first-choice midfield pairing.
